The Final Grade Released determines whether or not an adjusted final grade can be released to users.

 

Calculated Final Grade:

 

The final grade is calculated automatically by adding together all of the grade items.  Students can see an ongoing tally of their grade.

 

You cannot change the Final Calculated Grade without changing a student’s mark on a particular grade item. For example, if you want to change a student’s final grade you must go back to assignment one and increase their mark on that grade item.

 

Adjusted Final Grade:

 

The system automatically calculates the grade; however, you must enter a modified or adjusted final grade. Adjusted Final Grade allows you to change a user’s final grade without having to change the user’s mark on a grade item. Students cannot see an ongoing tally of their grade until an adjusted grade is entered.
