Important Update:
If you attended Copyleaks training before December 16th, please note that the process for creating assignments has changed. Previously, Copyleaks Assignments were added through the Content area. Now, they are created directly within the Assignment Folder in SLATE. This page has been updated with current instructions for creating Copyleaks Assignments. The Teacher Scanner Tool process remains unchanged.
- Only text and file assignment submissions are eligible for processing.
- Processor integrations are only available for individual assignment types, not group assignments.
Introduction
Copyleaks, a plagiarism detection and writing support tool, is designed to enhance the experiences of both faculty and students by offering an intuitive, robust, and feature-rich platform for academic integrity and skill development.
Winter 2026: Copyleaks will be our sole plagiarism detection tool.

- The Copyleaks Teacher Scanning Tool enables instructors to upload and scan individual documents for potential academic integrity issues. To maintain confidentiality, we recommend creating a dedicated course module for this tool and setting it to be hidden from students, or at the very least, hiding the tool itself.
