The Groups tool in SLATE allows instructors to organize students into smaller teams for collaborative activities, projects, discussions, and assignments. Groups can have their own dedicated discussions, assignment submission folders, and other shared workspaces, making it easier to manage group-based learning activities.
New Groups Interface
D2L has introduced a new Manage Groups experience. This updated interface allows instructors to view all group categories on a single page, review group configurations more easily, and quickly access related assignments, discussions, and other group activities. The new layout also provides streamlined options for creating, editing, importing, exporting, and managing groups.
Using Groups in SLATE
Groups can be used to:
- Create teams for collaborative projects and assignments.
- Provide private discussion spaces for group work.
- Allow students to self-enroll in groups.
- Restrict activities or resources to specific groups.
- Organize large classes into smaller working groups.
