Copyleaks: Submit Assignment

Looking for step-by-step instructions? You’ll find them below. Prefer to watch a video instead? We’ve created a video tutorial on submitting a paper to an Assignment Folder.

How to Submit Your Assignment

Step 1: Find the Assignment

  • Log in to SLATE and open your course.
  • Go to Assessments > Assignments, or click the assignment link in the Content module.
  • Select the correct Assignment Folder.

Step 2: Upload Your Paper

  • Click Add a File and upload your paper from your computer.
  • Important: If this is your first time submitting an assignment that uses Copyleaks, you’ll be asked to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA).
    • You must accept the agreement for your paper to be scanned and for a report to be generated.
  • Add comments if needed, then click Submit.

Step 3: Confirm and View Your Results

  • Look for the message “File Submission Successful” to confirm your upload.
  • Allow a few minutes for the Copyleaks report to generate.
  • Under Completion Status, click your submission to see your similarity score.
  • Select View > Details to open the full Copyleaks report in a new tab.

Important Notes

  • Practice Submissions: Some courses include a Self-Check folder where you can review your work before submitting the final version. Papers submitted there are usually not stored in the Copyleaks database.
  • Common Issue: If you submit your assignment without accepting the EULA, your paper will not be scanned. In this case, you will need to resubmit your paper and make sure you accept the agreement when prompted so a report can be generated.
