This gives students the opportunity to revise their work prior to making their final graded submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>What&#8217;s Changed<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, student submissions to Self-Check folders were not stored in the Copyleaks Data Hub. This prevented a student&#8217;s own draft from triggering a false &#8220;self-plagiarism&#8221; match against their final paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copyleaks has updated its system to automatically recognize and exclude a student&#8217;s own previously submitted work when generating similarity reports. As a result:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Drafts are now stored in the Data Hub:<\/strong> Self-check submissions are retained for a complete submission history.<\/li><li><strong>No false self-matches:<\/strong> Earlier drafts will not trigger plagiarism flags on the final paper.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>Crucial Exception &#8211; Same-Course Requirement:<\/strong><\/p><p>Automatic self-match exclusion <strong>only works within the same course<\/strong>. If a student submits the same draft to a different course or a previous term&#8217;s course, Copyleaks will flag it as a <strong>100% match<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4>What This Means for Instructors<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Zero Configuration Needed:<\/strong> This is a system-wide update from Copyleaks.
