Self-check folders allow students to submit draft papers before their formal graded submission, so they can review their text-matching and AI detection scores and revise accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Previously, student submissions to self-check folders were not stored in the Copyleaks Data Hub. This was done to prevent a student’s own draft from being flagged as a match against their final graded submission later on (i.e., “self-plagiarism”).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Copyleaks has since updated their system to automatically recognize and ignore a student’s own previously submitted work when generating match results.<\/strong> As a result, drafts submitted to self-check folders are now stored in the Data Hub, and this will no longer cause a false match when the student submits their final paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a system-level change on Copyleaks’ end \u2014 it is not a setting instructors can control or configure<\/strong>.
