The <strong>Due Date<\/strong> option is disabled for synchronous quizzes<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Countdown Timer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For a learner taking a synchronous quiz, the&nbsp;<strong>Start Quiz<\/strong>&nbsp;button is disabled until the start date and time arrives. A countdown timer appears on the&nbsp;<strong>Quiz Start<\/strong>&nbsp;page to indicate the time remaining before the quiz becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6036482\/uploads\/4XSZHF6FUT3A\/f21316-timer-countdown.png\" alt=\"A countdown timer on the Start Quiz page with the disabled Start Quiz! button\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Synchronize Quizzes for Learners | Instructor\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/T-6lY657kRE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>How do we inform learners about upcoming synchronous quizzes?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure that learners are aware of upcoming synchronous quizzes, instructors should create instructional or manual solutions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Make a synchronous quiz visible in the calendar:<ul><li>Instructors can select&nbsp;<strong>Add availability dates to Calendar<\/strong>&nbsp;or set up an event showing the whole time.<\/li><li>Instructors should use the&nbsp;<strong>Start Date<\/strong>&nbsp;parameter when setting up a synchronous quiz and leave the&nbsp;<strong>End Date<\/strong>&nbsp;field empty.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Create an announcement with information about the synchronous quiz.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Reminders:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructors must modify or review quizzes individually to avoid accidentally modifying quiz availability dates for synchronous quizzes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A synchronous quiz starts at the&nbsp;<strong>Start Date<\/strong>&nbsp;and ends when the time limit has lapsed, regardless of any action taken by the learner. For example, if a learner clicks&nbsp;<strong>Start Quiz!<\/strong>&nbsp;15 minutes after the start date on a 1-hour quiz, they only have 45 minutes left to complete it. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This feature in quizzes facilitates when an instructor requires all students to take the quiz at the same time.
