{"id":24175,"date":"2023-08-08T14:34:52","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T18:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ltsadev.sheridanc.on.ca\/apps\/wordpress\/learning-and-technology-portal\/?p=24175"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:30:29","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:30:29","slug":"editing-widgets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ltsa.sheridancollege.ca\/digital-learning-support-hub\/editing-widgets\/","title":{"rendered":"Editing Widgets"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Access the Widget to Edit<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Option One:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have a widget on your custom homepage and it has a drop-down arrow in the title bar, click the drop-down arrow and select <b>Edit this widget<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option Two:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0If you have a homepage widget on your custom homepage and it does not have a title bar, you will have to edit the homepage widget through the Widgets tool.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Edit Course<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Widgets<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Under the Custom Widgets tab, click the pencil icon next to the Homepage you wish to edit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Editing the Widget<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<b>Content<\/b>\u00a0tab and make any changes you wish through the HTML editor.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Save and Close<\/b>\u00a0to save your changes when you are done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Fix Multiple Copies of Widgets<\/h2>\n<p>If you see multiple copies of the same widget and do not know which one to edit, it is easiest to delete the multiple copies of the widget and copy\u00a0<b>only that one widget<\/b>\u00a0from the Course Commons.<\/p>\n<p>Do\u00a0<b>not<\/b>\u00a0re-copy your entire course, only the Homepage widget.<\/p>\n<p>To copy the widget, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Edit Course<\/b>. Click\u00a0<b>Import\/Export\/Copy Components<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<b>Search for offering<\/b>\u00a0button and select the Course Commons.<\/li>\n<li>When selected, click the\u00a0<b>Select Components<\/b>\u00a0button (do\u00a0<b>not<\/b>\u00a0click Copy All Components).<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down to Widgets and select the checkbox next to\u00a0<b>Widgets<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the radio button next to\u00a0<b>Select individual items to copy<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Continue<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>You will see a list of widgets to copy.
