Users in the Virtual Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Managing Users in the Virtual Community<\/h1>\n<p>When requesting a VC, you will be enrolled as the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Owner<\/span> of the community.\u00a0 This role provides the same access as an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Instructor<\/span> of a course offering with the following additional permissions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to add owner(s) (i.e. designate alternate owners).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to add community members in a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Secondary Instructor<\/span> or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Student<\/span> role.\u00a0 These roles within SLATE have the same permissions as a regular academic course offering.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to add a demo student via SLATE Self-Service.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to add and remove members individually.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to add members through a bulk file import.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0Note: Only Owners can enrol users in a virtual community.<\/h5>\n<h3><b>Individual Enrolments<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>See\u00a0<strong><a Enrolments<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4>Step One: Create an Enrolment File using Excel.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a New File in Excel. \u00a0<a Delimitated).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Step Two: Enroll Participants through the Classlist Tool.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a to the Virtual Community participants will be enrolled into.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Classlist<\/strong>\u00a0on the course navbar.<\/li>\n<li>From the <strong>Add Participants<\/strong> drop-down select\u00a0<strong>Import users from a file on your computer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Browse (Open File)\u00a0<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the file on your local computer and click\u00a0<strong>Open.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you would like to send an email to users select the checkbox to Send email to existing users under Import Options.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Import.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If any errors are reported, fix the file and reload.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Removing Participants\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>See <a
