The group tool can be used to create group work areas for users.  You can use groups to organize users\u2019 work on projects and assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students can belong to multiple groups within the same course.  Each group can have its own discussion forums and assignment folders.  You can grade members of groups individually or as a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can access the Groups tool by selecting Groups <\/strong>from the Management<\/strong> drop-down:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to Setting up Groups:   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You need to make a few decisions about how the groups will work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n\n
  1. Will students be auto-enrolled in groups?<\/li>\n\n\n
  2. Will students be placed in groups randomly?<\/li>\n\n\n
  3. Will students self-enroll into groups?<\/li>\n\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    It is usually better to set up the groups after most users are enrolled in your course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
