The Copy Content tool allows you to copy content between any two courses in SLATE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important<\/strong>: To mitigate the risk that large courses may result in timeout failures for users, the Copy Course Components job functions as an asynchronous job. You can view the progress of the copying job by clicking the View History<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To copy course components<\/h1><\/p>\n\n\n\n
  1. Navigate to a course that you want to copy course components into.<\/li>
  2. On the navbar, click\u00a0Course Admin<\/strong>\u00a0>\u00a0Import\/Export\/Copy Components<\/strong>.<\/li>
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Select\u00a0Copy Components from another Org Unit<\/strong>.
      • Click\u00a0Search for offering\u00a0<\/strong>and locate the course offering containing the components you want to copy.<\/li>
      • Click\u00a0Add Selected<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
      • Do one of the following:
        • To copy all course components, click\u00a0Copy All Components<\/strong>. We recommend that you copy all components between courses to ensure you maintain all desired associations, and then delete any undesired material in the new course.<\/li>
        • To specify the components you want to copy, click\u00a0Select Components<\/strong>. Select your components. To see details for course components, click the\u00a0Show the current course components<\/strong>\u00a0link, then click the\u00a0View Detail<\/strong>\u00a0icon beside a component to see existing items. For those course components that provide the option to include associated files, we recommend leaving the option turned on. Click\u00a0Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>
        • Select the\u00a0Offset all dates of copied components<\/strong>\u00a0check box and specify the days and hours that the dates should be offset by or calculate the range between two dates.<\/li>
        • Click\u00a0Finish<\/strong>.

        • Do one of the following:
          • To copy another package, click\u00a0Copy Another Package<\/strong>.<\/li>
          • To see the results of your copy, click\u00a0View Content<\/strong>.<\/li>
          • To review and manage course dates, click\u00a0Review and Manage Dates<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • Now when you copy groups to courses, the group setup (grade item, assessment option, and so on) is also copied over.<\/li>
            • A validation logic step is included in the copy process. To help reduce duplicate objects and cleanup from the copy process, the validation logic informs you if you have previously copied from the source course.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
