Using simulations, users can participate in activities that could normally only be done within a classroom. Allowing students to be more involved online will enhance their learning and can help support flexible learning models.

Some topics are much beter suited to learn using an interactive application. Instead of viewing 2D images in a textbook,imagine being able to view models from every angle possible, hide and show layers, view animations, view labels and input calculations.

While SLATE offers many teaching tools, sometimes a custom application is much more useful.
